Homebuyer Survey

(Level 2 Survey)

Also known as a ‘Level 2’ survey, a Homebuyer Survey should be carried out when you are thinking of buying any property and is the most popular type of survey available. A Homebuyer Survey helps you to identify any faults or defects that could later put you out of pocket. Being aware of a property’s faults prior to purchase can help you to decide whether the house fits your needs – and can even help you with price negotiations.

What is a Homebuyer Survey?

A Homebuyer Survey involves an inspection of all accessible parts of the property, from chimney stack to cellar, to provide information about the condition of the building.

Our Chartered Surveyor will identify visible problems that may affect the value of the property, or that could be considered dangerous.

Homebuyer Surveys follow a set format that are easy to follow and are tailored to each specific property. It will include an overview of the maintenance requirements of the property, and outline repairs that are needed. This type of report also includes top-line guidance on environmental hazards, and underlines issues that your legal advisor should assess.

Once you have received your report, you will be contacted by the Surveyor to discuss the contents of the report and or to arrange a face-to-face meeting as part of the service.
